Laos Break-through-What An Awesome God

God has created a major break-through in Laos. Many people have been praying that the Lao government would permit freedom of worship in this country.

HIM Leader was invited to attend a meeting with Lao government officials last week. The following is his report of what our AWESOME God is doing:

This is a report regarding the meeting and discussion with government officials. We met with the following key officials:

1. Mr. Hiem Phommachanh Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2. Mr. Khamthavomg Dalavong, Secretary General

3. Mr. Onsri Busyvongsuc, Chairman of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry

4. Mr. Tong Ger Tho, Vice - President of Lao Front for National Construction and member of National Assembly

5. Mr. Ching Ly, Director of Lao National Assembly

I had a long discussion with Mr. Tong Ger regarding the freedom of religion in Laos. He said by law, the government has given its population free choice of religion.

First, those who believe Jesus Christ have failed to register their Christian Denomination and report to local (city) and province for certification to worship God in the village. Secondly, it up of the local government and province to exercise the new law according to Act 19. He recommended that believers ought to register their names as a Christian Denomination Church and have christian leaders send certification letter to local and province governments. That will the best way to avoid conflict and persecution. Religious Groups must cooperate closely with cities and provinces.

Conclusion: I have discussed with Pastor Soulivanh Thao, head of Hmong Group and Mr. Nhia Ge Xiong, Lao Evangelical Church, Chang Thabouri District Vientiane, Lao.P.D.R

I need to organize believer groups and submit their groups to Lao Evangelical Church in Vientiane and direct believer groups to register with local and province officials. This needs to done soon before believers get caught by local authorities. Please pray for believers and me on the border as we organize the work.

We thank God for protecting me as He led me to see Lao high government officials. God is awesome!

In Christ

HIM Leader, Frontline Servant

This is truly an awsome sight...keep up the good work; I've met Mr. Tooj Ntxawg Thoj in 2000 when my soccer team went there to play friendly soccer matches...we will need to work closely with him and the LPDR government to share the gospel of Jesus Christ...
