HIM Leader Christmas Report

This a report from HIM Leader of Christmas Celebration in three villages in Chiang Rai Province and two villages celebrating Hmong New Year: (See Pictures Below)

We conducted Church Christmas Programs in Ban Thang Thong, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai; Ban Khoone Sathang, Viensa District, Nan and Ban Laotakhao, Theung district, Chiang Rai.

The Christmas programs went well. I preached in regard to the Birth of Jesus Christ: "He is the Redeemer, Saviour and He loves the whole world". Believers know the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ. God touched many people's hearts. They felt Jesus is in their hearts and encounter their lives. Many believers rededicated their lives to the Lord.

I also shared the True Living God to shaman and animistic people. God is working among these people and they asked us to come back and share more about the the True Living God (Creator). We plan to follow up these prospects sometime in Jan-09.

We also attended Hmong New Year Programs in Ban Tong Tao and Ban Laotakhao, Theung District, Chiang Rai(Tong Tao is new village I have just expand ministry to). I shared with many the story why Hmong celebrate the New Year and what is the meaning of the New Year in regard to Exodus 12 and Numbers 9. Some Hmong celebrate the New Year according to the Bible, but unfortunately, today Hmong leaders have led Hmong society to diffirence ways of celebrating the New Year. The correct way to celebrate Hmong New Year is from the Bible. Religious and other leaders have agreed to what I presented to them in regard to Hmong New Year ceremony.

Conclusion: Hmong need more people to be able to tell them the true meaning of celebrating the New Year. It will take time for Hmong society to know the truth about New Year Ceremony.
